Three is such a fun age! By three, toddlers’ little personalities are really, truly beginning to show. They’re learning to laugh and make other people laugh with their silly sense of humor. They’ve learned how to play nicely and have fun with other kids. Their little minds take everything in! Three-year-olds are constantly learning and amazing their parents and caregivers every single day. They’re just amazing little creatures!

Our friend Rachel decided to embrace all the joys of having a three-year-old for her daughter Millie's third birthday party. We were so excited to be a part of this wonderful celebration! Rachel made sure the colors and atmosphere were vibrant and exciting, just like her adorable three-year-old in this Young, Wild, and Three birthday party!

Young, Wild, and Three Birthday Party Supplies

Rachel wanted to capture Millie’s fun-loving, wild-hearted personality for her special day. She picked exciting and vibrant colors and paired them with a vibe inspired by the 70s’ peace, love, and flower power. As the owner of Oh My Darling Party Co, Rachel is known for creating over the top backdrops for any occasion. She set the stage for Millie’s party by creating a custom focal wall with her signature fringe backdrop. This featured fringe in her chosen party colors of magenta, orange, yellow, pink, and purple - all fun and exciting shades to capture Millie’s dynamic personality. She completed her focal wall with wooden cutouts of a giant 3, a Volkswagen van, and a bright sun.

Rachel amped up her focal wall with balloon garlands. She created a garland in complementing colors and added daisy balloon designs. To create a similar garland for your own party, you can start with our Candy Balloon Garland. It features colors in pink and peach tones similar to Rachel’s garland. Rachel’s table is easy to recreate but extraordinary nonetheless. She used a simple wooden table on a woven mat surrounded by large knitted and woven pillows. It was decorated with two large clear vases of beautiful wildflowers on each end. Rachel propped disco balls around each vase for a little sparkle. At the center of the table sat a tiered cookie tray filled with delicious cookies that Rachel had designed just for Millie. Finally, she dusted the table with confetti from the Peace and Love Confetti Pack for a finishing touch.

Rachel’s party color aesthetic moved through even to her place settings. She used Happy Yellow and Neon Coral Paper Plates and alternated them across her table. The coral plates were topped with the Chartreuse Yellow Daisy Plates, which were perfect for piling cookies on, and the yellow plates were sprinkled with even more confetti. Each plate was paired with a Daisy Paper Cup complete with custom drink stirrers to match the party theme and Gold Foil Party Straws.

Between playing in bright sunshine and jumping in the bouncy house, guests could wander inside for food and refreshments. When Rachel was planning this party, she wasn’t sure how she would decorate the inside of the house. In an incredible stroke of genius, she came up with the brilliant idea of creating an overhead fringe just the night before! Rachel used colors that matched the fringe backdrop outside but hung them from her ceiling this time. This innovative decorating idea gives the room so much more color and energy and adds such a fun dynamic.

Rachel had the party catered with an entire feast of various types of corn dogs. There was everything from your classic corn dog to three types of gourmet corn dogs flavored with jalapeno, poblano, and bacon - yum! For refreshments, Rachel had metal barrels filled with ice and packed with all sorts of drinks for both adults and kids. Rachel had the menu items for both the food and the drinks printed on little glass plaques. More daisy paper cups held Wooden Cutlery and more straws, respectively, with the food and drinks. The tables were completed with stacks of Oh Happy Day dinner napkins in neon coral, rose pink, and happy yellow.

Rachel had an adorable cake designed just for Millie. It was frosted to resemble a 70s shag but in colors that perfectly matched the focal wall she created. The cake was held on a Pink Melamine Cake Stand. Rachel had a cake topper designed with daisies, ribbons, and Millie’s name. However, you could use our Garden Party Cake Topper for a similar look. Millie made her birthday wish on one of our Assorted Gold Glitter Number Candles with a pale pink and gold glitter 3. The cake was served on Chartreuse Yellow Daisy Plates alongside even more yummy cookies.
