Pinky Promise Valentine’s Day Party
There is nothing better than just hanging out with your favorite gal pals. Your girlfriends are for life, and what better way to seal the deal than with a pinky promise! A pinky promise shows that you plan to be besties forever, so why don’t you throw a party to celebrate?
One of our favorite crafty mamas, Sofia Jones, did exactly that! Her daughters, Juliet and Navy, are two peas in a pod and the closest BFFs you’ve ever seen. With Valentine’s Day coming up, Sofia wanted to do something special for them, so she threw them a Pinky Promise-themed Galentine’s party!
Pinky Promise Galentine’s Party Decorations
Every good party starts with an eye-catching color palette. For her Pinky Promise party, Sofia took inspiration from our Totally Smitten Felt Garland! This adorable garland is made up of a variety of shades of red and pink for each letter. Sofia took these beautiful, vibrant colors and applied them to all of the details of her party. It was pink and red everywhere, and it turned out wonderfully!
Sofia began designing her party by hanging a bright red and pink fringe backdrop from Oh My Darling Party Co. This vibrant backdrop really set the scene for the party and gave the space a true Valentine’s feel. You can achieve a similar look for your own party by layering our Heather Pink and Red Fringe Backdrops and cutting them to size.
Next, Sofia created a fun, themed balloon garland to drape across the top of her backdrop. She started with pink, red, and ivory balloons in different sizes and then added in a few fun extras, such as heart balloons and fun little cherries. If you want this look for your own party, try starting with our Pink and Red Balloon Garland kit and adding Red Heart and Cherry Foil Balloons. To add some contrast to the color red and pink color scheme, Sofia placed a few Checkerboard Foil Balloons. Finally, Rose Gold Foil Letter Balloons spelled XO across the balloon garland, and wire lettering from Stitch and Steel Co. added to the party’s theme, “Pinky Promise” over two large round balloons.
On her table, Sofia threw in everything she knew her girls would love. She started with a small pink runner with a red conversation heart pattern going across it. For an equally festive Valentine table runner, use our Red XOXO Table Runner. It would pair well with the XO from the balloon garland! Sofia then topped her runner with her candy charcuterie board, her cake on a pink cake stand, and another cake stand with a 90s BFF classic staple: a pink wired phone which she displayed on a pink and red cake stand. Just think, how many hours did you spend chatting with your bestie while twirling your finger in the phone cord? A few Mini Disco Balls gave the table some sparkle while a pink and red felt ball garland wound its way between everything. Finally, wooden shapes inspired by our Heartbeat Gang Paper Plates from Finding Foley gave her tablescape an extra dose of fun.
To complete her tablescape, Sofia chose the perfect complimentary table settings that embraced her red and pink colors. She started with our Check It! Tickle Me Pink Dinner Plate and topped it with a personalized wooden heart ornament with each of her daughters’ names on it and one of our Heartbeat Gang Small Paper Plates. Sofia found red conversation heart napkins that matched her runner almost exactly. However, you can try using our Happy Hearts Lunch Napkins or Lacy Heart Small Napkins for an equally adorable look for your place setting. Each plate was paired with Neon Pink Wooden Cutlery, and one of our Strawberry/Light Pink Color Blocked Paper Cups with a Gold Glitter Heart Drink Stirrer. Sofia even took the time to decorate the cups with two little heart cutouts to bring together the theme of love and hearts across her tablescape.
We can’t get over how sweet (literally!) Sofia’s candy Galentine charcuterie board is! And the wire heart cherry décor is just the cutest! Sofia took a wooden heart-shaped serving tray she already had on hand and completely covered it with candy. She even took a gumball machine-shaped jar and filled it with pillowy marshmallows! Our shop has plenty of different candies to get your own candy board started, including Peach Hearts and Rainbow Sour Belts.
Of course, this party had to have the perfect cake! Party planners, take a slice of advice from Sofia: you don’t have to go all out on an expensive custom cake if you don’t want to. Sofia’s Pinky Promise party cake is simply a store-bought white cake she decorated herself! With a piping bag full of matching white icing, Sofia piped a swirl border on the top of the cake and then filled it with our All the Love Sprinkles. To decorate the sides of the cake, all she did was press in some extra candy she had from making her candy board, including gummy lips and pink and red chocolate pearls.
Finally, to finish off her party planning, Sofia made Juliet and Navy their own little baskets filled with party goodies. She used our Large Retro Basket in Cream and filled it with things she knew her daughters would go crazy for. While Sofia filled her baskets with things like dress up clothes, jewelry, and hair accessories, our shop is filled with other goodies that would be perfect for party favors, such as Hot Chocolate Bombes with Heart Marshmallows, Love Notes Stickers, and a Scented Glam Beauty Set.
Juliet and Navy had the best time at their Pinky Promise Galentine’s Party! It was even more special knowing that their mom planned the whole thing from beginning to end just for them! Are you planning your own party soon? Head over to our TikTok page for all of the latest DIYs and inspiration!
