Pink CelebrEIGHT Birthday Party
It's no secret that pink usually ranks pretty high in the list of little children's most loved colors. So, when it comes to birthdays, who's to say that you shouldn't just go all in and indulge in all of the pink things? Lauren over at Girl Mom and Moore did exactly that when she created and designed a fun and bubbly bubblegum pink CelebrEIGHT birthday party for her twin girls.
Lauren is a girl mom of three – twin girls, Kennedy and Sydney, and her youngest, Peyton. As Kennedy and Sydney’s birthday came closer, Lauren took inspiration from a pink #8 wand from Unigirl Co. This wand was all pink with sparkles and glitter, aka the perfect ingredients for her twins’ eighth birthday. She created a party decked out in pink from top to bottom, which was the perfect way to celebrEIGHT her girl’s eighth birthday.

To get this party started, Lauren began by putting together an amazing backdrop for photos. With a little help from her family, Lauren put her love of crafting to good use and cut and pieced together pieces of white poster board to form each backdrop. She then hand-painted the checkered pattern in the girls’ favorite shade of bubblegum pink. For the lettering, Lauren made quick use of her Cricut to design and print the quote on her second board, which included her party’s CelebrEIGHT theme in pink and blue.
On the day of the party, Lauren created a beautiful balloon garland display to wrap around her backdrop. She used a variety of balloons in different shades of pink to really emphasize her fun and bubbly pink party theme. Not only that, but Lauren also created a much larger balloon garland to go around a huge projection screen where the girls and their guests would enjoy their favorite movies in the open air. If you’re interested in creating your own balloon garlands but aren’t sure where to start, head to our Amazon storefront, where we have a list of all the balloon garland essentials to get you started.
The pink theme really came to life on Lauren’s party table. She started with a simple plain white tablecloth. Our Pink Ombre Table Cover would have also been a good choice to fit this theme as well. Lauren arranged a vibrant fuchsia cloth down the center of the table and bunched it up to create a fabulous table runner. She placed a large pastel pink vase and several smaller bright pink vases on the table and filled them with matching flowers that she picked herself from her local Trader Joe’s. Finally, a few of our Party Disco Balls were placed along the runner with a sprinkling of confetti for a finishing touch. Although Lauren used a custom mix of confetti from Lauren Glass Designs, you can use the Pink & Powerful Confetti Mix, which is also from Lauren Glass and can be found in our party shop.
Lauren definitely has a fantastic eye for creating the perfect party tablescape. She began by stacking a small Neon Rose Paper Plate over a Check It! Tickle Me Pink Dinner Plate. Layering plates is a great way to draw the eye and add fun details to your table. We love how the Check It plates perfectly matched Lauren’s photo backdrop. Each place at the table was paired with one of three shades of melamine cups, either in pink, fuchsia, or soft pink, with straws and custom CelebrEIGHT stir sticks created by Written by Nikki.
Although this was a pink-themed party, Lauren chose a lovely pale blue as her accent color. On her table, this showed up in the Blue Foil Straws in each cup and the Blue Stripe Napkins beside each plate. Lauren’s tablescape was finally complete as she arranged pink cutlery on each napkin.
Every birthday party has to have yummy treats to snack on, and Lauren’s CelebrEIGHT party didn’t disappoint. Lauren had custom cookies made for Kennedy and Sydney by Jess Baldwin. Jess created perfectly detailed cookies that matched the party theme. There were pink checkered number 8 cookies along with bubblegum pink bubbles, slices of pink cake, and, of course, CelebrEIGHT cookies to mark the theme.
While all of the details that Lauren created for Kennedy and Sydney's party were amazing, the pièce de résistance was definitely the birthday cake. Lauren asked Tiffany Ann, a good friend of hers and a custom cake designer, to craft the perfect birthday cake. Lauren asked her to create a cake inspired by the adorable birthday cake headband from Unigirl Co. Tiffany created an incredibly detailed cake. She included pink, blue, and glitter polka dots all around the sides of the pastel pink cake, as well as pink frills along the top and bottom edges and a fondant candle that was an exact replica of the one on Unigirl Co's headband. On the day of the party, Lauren added a few Mini Disco Balls to add some extra sparkle to this already amazing cake and served it on a matching Pink Melamine Cake Stand.
Lauren’s attention to detail and love of party planning truly came to life when she designed this party. Kennedy, Sydney, and even little Peyton were thrilled with all of the pink details and yummy pink treats. They had a blast celebrating the twins’ birthday with their Pink CelebrEIGHT party and will definitely remember it for years to come.
