Farmer’s Market Themed Birthday Party
Can you think of anything more delicious than fruits and veggies chosen fresh from your local farmer’s market? Aside from picking them straight off the vines yourself, farmer’s markets are practically a guarantee for the tastiest vegetables and fruits! They’re a great place to spend a warm, breezy afternoon surrounded by the delightful scents of flowers, produce, and freshly baked pies.
One of our valued customers, Stephanie, decided to recreate the atmosphere of a farmer’s market for her daughter Rory’s fourth birthday party. Stephanie went with a simple rustic theme and subdued colors to let the flowers, fruits, and veggies stand out throughout her mini-market. She designed a party that is so easy to recreate yourself. You might even have some of these items lying around the house ready to be repurposed in a new and adorable way.
Farmer’s Market Party Supplies and Decorations
Her dessert table set the atmosphere for the entire party. It was the heart of Rory’s little farmer’s market! To start, Stephanie covered a table in a lacy white tablecloth and a rustic runner. Our Pale Pink Pinstripe Tablecloth would be another great option that matches the rose gold and pale pink color scheme. She used our Rose Gold Foiled Floral Print Bunting Banner to add just a gentle touch of dazzle. A pink and white awning hung over the table, completing the farmer’s market look.
Stephanie repurposed wooden crates to create depth across her table and simulate the look of fruit and vegetable crates at the market. Mason jars and tin milk jugs were filled with fresh flowers all around the party, and regular kitchen tools such as colanders held natural produce. Stephanie even had some eggs displayed in a cut-out of an egg container. Adorable little signs saying “Hand Picked” and “Fresh Baked” made it seem like the offerings on the table were truly for sale!
We absolutely love how sustainable and eco-friendly this party turned out to be. Stephanie had the most adorable cookies made that were shaped and frosted to look like fruits and vegetables. She displayed them all in reused strawberry cartons. If you want something you can use again after your party, our Pink Floral Berry Basket Set is a great choice, and it comes with a small strainer to easily wash berries.
For dessert, Stephanie had beautiful cupcakes made. Each one was frosted to match the fresh flowers that were all around the party. They were displayed along the top of a wooden crate near a shelf of flowers. Stephanie’s handmade flower market sign was the perfect touch to help add to the market atmosphere. The cupcakes were served on a pink and white charger plate and the Gold Foil Bees Small Dessert Paper Plates. The Pink Gingham Scalloped Large Paper Plates would be another great option to use as a charger, and the gingham design is perfect for the farmer’s market look. Our Rose Gold Foiled Floral Cocktail Napkins were kept handy to clean up any messy little hands.
Stephanie set up a refreshment corner behind the desserts decorated with an adorable farm quote sign and a tin vase of flowers. A matching tin bucket was filled with ice and bottles of fruit-flavored seltzer. Above the little table was a rack of mason jars used as cups if any guest wanted one. For a more child-safe option, our Rose Gold Foil Cups would be perfect. They match the party color scheme and add a bit of glitter. Plus, you wouldn’t have to worry about shattered glass in case of any accidents. Stephanie also had some totes designed just for the party and had fruit and veggie hair clips ready to hand out to all of Rory’s friends. Our Pink Pumpkin Hair Clips are a great option to match this theme as well.
When it was finally cake time, Stephanie displayed the cake on an overturned general store crate. The crate was covered in a small white runner with pink florals. You could also use something like our Pastel Pink Classic Stripe Table Runner. The cake itself sat on a scalloped pink cake stand similar to our Medium Bamboo Fiber Cake Stand.
The cake that Stephanie had made for Rory was minimalistic but just adorable. It was a layered naked cake decorated with Rory’s favorites: strawberries and blueberries. Stephanie had the cake topper custom-designed to match just for Rory. If you don’t want to get a topper custom-made, the Garden Party Cake Topper would be perfect to accompany all the flowers. Rory made her birthday wish by blowing out four of our 6” Pink Ombre Tall Beeswax Candles.
When the party was finally wrapping up, Stephanie came up with the perfect and most original party favors that completely matched the farmer’s market theme. She simply went to her local grocery store and picked out several different flavors of mini pies. Each one was tied with a cute little bow to give it a more finished look. If you’re also looking to have more traditional party favors at your own party, we offer Cherry and Mini Pie Lip Glosses that would be just perfect for any birthday farmer’s market.
Rory had an amazing time at her farmer’s market birthday party. Her mom did such a fantastic job creating the perfect setting for such an original theme.
