3rd Birthday Fiesta Themed Party
There’s almost nothing more exciting than a full-on Mexican fiesta. With the bright array of fun colors and the amazing food options, what better theme for a birthday party could there be? When our friend Trista decided to throw a third birthday party for her son, Jack, she knew she wanted to incorporate their family’s love of Mexico. She infused Mexican influence into every detail of her party planning as she could, and the resulting fiesta was simply fantástico!
3rd Birthday Party Supplies and Decorations
Trista included so many wonderful elements to Jack’s party to really create the fiesta feel. She started with a backdrop sign with the adorable quote, “No siesta until after the fiesta.” Surrounding the sign was a balloon garland in various fun, exciting colors. You can start with our Whimsy Rainbow Colored Balloon Garland kit to create a similar garland. It includes just about every color you would need to create the perfect backdrop for your party.
Trista added a few Fiesta Garlands hanging over the party space and, of course, a colorful llama piñata that the kids would later smash open. Another great option would be our Fiesta Mini Banner Set, complete with bright flags and colorful llama piñata banners. Several perfectly placed pots of cacti finished recreating Mexico in their backyard.
Trista did not hold back when it came to food and snacks for this party. She had adorable custom cookies from Linen and Gray created in cactus and maracas shapes, complete with Jack’s name and fiesta colors. And, we absolutely cannot get over how cute the cake pops were, complete with tiny sombreros and ponchos!
Trista also hired a taco truck for the day. All-day long, they served delicious street tacos with salsa and tortilla chips. Our Taco Truck Paper Plates were the perfect choice to serve the tacos on, and they were a hit all day long! To beat the heat, Trista rented a paleta cart. Paletas are Mexican frozen fruit pops made with real fruit and other natural flavors. They’re often served with something hot and sour like chile flakes and limes. Trista had a cake stand pre-set with clear cups of watermelon, pineapple, and lime slices and a tiny bottle of chile flakes ready to add to for the authentic taste.
For her table, Trista incorporated as many of her party colors as possible. She had a natural wood table surrounded by plush pillows in bright colors. A large arrangement of flowers like calla lilies, thistles, and marigolds sat at the center of the table. Trista lined the rest of the table with Mini Cactus Piñatas and mini llama piñatas. If mini piñatas aren’t your thing, our Cactus Fiesta Tabletop Decor is another great option for a fiesta-inspired tablescape. Finally, she sprinkled Whimsy Confetti in between the rest of her decorations for a finishing pop of colors.
Trista’s love of color didn’t stop at just her decorations. She lined her table with plates in a variety of colors. Our octagonal Meri Meri paper dinner plates are perfect for this as they come in various bright colors. Trista used just about every color option available for her table. The plates were paired with Neon Fringe Napkins and Mint and Gold Cutlery. Beside each setting was one of our Neon Colors Fringe Party Cups with an Aqua/Teal Bendy Paper Straw. If you wanted to continue the cactus theme, you could also use the Cactus Paper Straws. Each place setting was completed with a set of maracas personalized with each child’s name printed on them.
When it finally became time for cake, Trista brought over a perfectly themed cake to her dessert table. The cake was set on a black cake stand to not take focus away from the adorable cactus and dessert cake. The cake had realistic-looking mini cacti piped in frosting all around the sides. The white frosting and green cacti stood out perfectly against the bright colors of the fringe backdrop that Trista had hanging behind her dessert table. You can create a similar backdrop by combining a few of our different tinsel garlands, or you can create your own colorful backdrop with our Fiesta Party Fan Decorations. Finally, Jack made his special birthday wish by blowing out three of our 6” Ombre Tall Beeswax Candles.
Trista did such a wonderful job planning this amazing fiesta birthday for Jack. She was able to incorporate everything that their family loves about Mexico. Everything about this party was just perfect, from the bright colors to the choice of cacti and florals to all of the amazing food choices.
